Monday 1 August 2016 Calgary Today, was a public holiday in Canada known as Civic Holiday, so the streets were full of families doing sport, or enjoying the park and the river. Taking advantage of a nice day we rented a bike we left to explore Calgary along the river. We were joined by Hari, Rhonda and Oliver who was in a very comfortable child trolley that was attached to Rhonda's bicycle. We cycled about 20 kilometers. It was a beautiful ride , heading east on the Bow River Pathway and then south in Inglewood past the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, past the train yard where we turned back. Sunday 31 July 2017 We got up early to have breakfast at Hari's house, so we arrived at 8:45 am and Hari prepared us a yummy one while we waited for Oliver to wake up. At last he woke up and it was love at first sight. for Ely - He is very bubbly, laughing and smiling at everything - lovely child. Oliver Pillai After Oliver had his breakfast we went for a walk along the Bow River, taking with us Finnegan .The river and Prince's Island can be seen from my brother's house and it's a lovely part of the city. We were surprised by the way the city has organised the embankment so there's ample space for walking, cycling , jogging, or just sitting alongside the river.  We walked about 1 hour and we then went across to Kensington, crossing the iconic Peace Bridge for lunch. Peace Bridge over the River Bow, Calgary But we were met by hundreds of people all dressed in characters from Harry Potter books/films and everywhere was packed. The neighbourhood deci...

Wednesday 27 July 2017 In the morning Alex had prepared us the best pancakes on the planet, she had gone to the local market in the morning, bought fresh berries and made these absolutely delicious pancakes, when combined fresh honey and fab maple syrup the pancakes were divine. So well stocked up we went off to meet Maida, our Santiagan friend. Alex's pancakes She had arranged to take us on a walking tour through the interesting parts of Toronto. The first place that she'd love to spend time was the Toronto Reference Library - a modern design.  It had 5 floors, with spaces designed to read, have meetings, study and even spaces for children. It also had a coffee shop too. It was a cool place. Toronto Reference Library, 798 Yonge Street  Then we walked through the a really posh part of Toronto, through Lawerence Park and Yorkville - where they have very luxurious apartments and quite a few showbiz personalties - like Drake, Mike Myers and Keanu Reeves, apparentl...
